Hi, I'm sarah Your Lynchburg portrait photographer

I do this because

Motherhood moves too fast

The little details disappear first

I’m a mother of five who knows firsthand how quickly entire seasons of motherhood can disappear into survival mode. Some of the years I wanted to hold onto most are the ones I remember the least clearly now, and that completely changed the way I photograph families today.

I became a mother in a pretty unconventional way. While my husband and I were in foster care classes, we found out we were expecting our first biological baby. Four months into my pregnancy, we welcomed our first foster placement, siblings who later became part of our family through adoption. Within six months, we had become parents to three children all at once.

That season of foster care, adoption, pregnancy, and postpartum moved so quickly and carried so much that parts of it honestly feel blurry now. There are details I wish I could go back and hold onto more clearly. That experience completely shaped the way I photograph motherhood today, paying attention to the little things mothers are often too overwhelmed to fully see while they’re happening.

In just six months, I became a mother of three

What I do for you

So you can just be, without everything else

I take care of you too

I know what you don’t want to lose

I know mothers are usually the ones thinking about everyone else first. Whether you’ve just had a baby and barely slept, are trying to get out the door with toddlers, or are making sure everyone is fed, dressed, and happy before the session even begins, there’s already a lot being carried before you arrive. That’s why I slow down, check in on you too.

After raising five children myself, I know how quickly childhood changes and how easy it is for entire stages to blur together later. I’ve lived through seasons that moved so fast I barely remember parts of them clearly now. That’s why I pay close attention to the details and moments you’ll someday want to come back to.

Sweet Words

" We love Sarah, she is so much fun to be around and she makes photo sessions a breeze!"

- Kelsey

This season of moments will one day be everything.

You’re in it right now, and it already feels like it’s moving too fast. The small details. The way they change week by week. The parts you think you’ll remember.
This is your chance to actually keep it.
