I’m Sarah, a mom of five and a milestone photographer in Lynchburg, and this is a stage that never stays still. They go from lying in your arms to sitting on their own, from grabbing your fingers to pulling themselves up, and with those first wobbly steps, they’re suddenly walking across the room.
It all happens close together, faster than you expect, and it’s hard to keep track of what changed when. This is the part of the first year you can almost see as it unfolds, and also the part that becomes a blur once it’s over.

Cake Smash Session
When your baby is sitting, reaching, smiling, and showing more of who they are, this session gives you a simple way to pause it. I’ll keep things calm and baby-led, with space for little movements, favorite expressions, and the details changing by the week.
First birthday sessions are made for the end of a big, beautiful year. We’ll photograph your baby as they are right now, with tiny teeth, wobbly standing, curious hands, and all the pieces of this age you’ll want to remember.
A cake smash can be added when you want something playful at the end of your session. We’ll keep it simple with portraits first, then cake, messy hands, little bites, and all the funny moments that come with it.

Each session includes:

• Access to the client closet for mothers

What if my kids don’t listen or won’t sit still?
That’s completely okay. Kids don’t need to sit still or behave a certain way for this to work. We follow their lead, give them space to be themselves, and that’s usually when the best moments happen.
What should I wear for my maternity session?
Choose what feels easiest. Sessions can take place at home, outdoors around Lynchburg, or in the studio, and we’ll talk through what fits your family best so it feels simple and right.
What should we wear for our family session?
You don’t have to figure that out on your own. You’ll have guidance on what works well together, along with access to the client closet for mothers, so everything feels simple and comes together without the stress.
